An interview with Lyzabeth on why she wrote this book.

 

Q. Do you feel that training for a fitness competition is healthy?


A.

I know that many competitors do not train in a healthy manner. They will do whatever it takes to lose weight quickly whether it be drugs, prescription diuretics and dangerous diets (low carb, low fat, etc). These diets may help them look great on stage, but they gain massive amounts of weight after the show which can lead to long term health problems including Candida, hypothyroid, liver problems and more.

 

Training for a show can be a very healthy undertaking, but the athlete needs to learn from someone who understands food and it’s healing properties. As a holistic nutritionist and PRO Fitness Model & Trainer, I can help people not only achieve the fitness model body, but just as importantly, a happy and healthy body!

 

Q. Why did you write this book?


A.

My greatest passion in life is learning and sharing. I have dedicated my entire life to fitness. I started weight training at the age of 12 and was a certified fitness instructor by the age of 16 teaching regular classes at the YMCA.

 

I have been leading workshops across North America on Fitness Modeling and I LOVE it. My only complaint is that I can not keep up with the demand by often missing e-mails and I am unable to help everyone that contacts me. I felt that a book where I can share my knowledge and secrets was the best way to allow me to share my knowledge in the most available fashion.


Q. What is your philosophy on nutrition & training?


A.

I believe that it is important for the mind, body and soul to work synergistically. They are all interconnected so if one is left out, the training will be incomplete. This can be done very simply: Body – Eat for health and listen to your body. Do not eat foods that cause discomfort. Be good to your body and only feed it REAL food. When you train, find the mind/muscle connection – think into the muscle that you are working and focus all of your breath into each movement. The more you do this, the more effective each workout will be. Find time to laugh, love and give thanks; this will nourish your soul.
