WATERMELON JUICE RECIPE: HOW TO SHELL AND JUICE A WATERMELON
When Beyonce proclaimed “She’s been drankin’ watermelon”… I have to say, I was curious what watermelon juice would taste like! I immediately looked into how to make my own… I know, the power of super stars! LOL!
Anyways, I used to chop and cut to make the juice and throw it all in the blender. It was a bit time-consuming. Luckily, my business manager Nazim said “duh… just use an ice cream scoop, this works like a charm” And I totally recommend it! WATERMELON JUICE HEALTH BENEFITS
Water melon is not just delicious, it is also incredibly refreshing and easy on your pocket book! One small $2 water melon will make quite a bit of juice. It’s also VERY healthy. Watermelon is loaded with of vitamins A, B6 and C, antioxidants and even amino acids like citrulline!
Watermelon is mostly (92%) water and contains high levels of Lycopene. Lycopene is a naturally occurring plant nutrient found is some fruits and veggies. It it responsible for the red pigment of watermelons. The redder the watermelon, the higher its concentration of Lycopene! Other lycopene containing fruits and veggies include tomatoes, guava and grapefruits! All delicious, right?
Lycopene is a strong antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. It can improve our cardiovascular and bone health! It has been found to also protect you from some cancers (like prostate, colon, lung, and uterine).
