Jump Rope Tricks: Learn The Cross
I’m super excited to be adding a “How to Jump Rope Series” to my YouTube channel and blog. Jumping rope is inexpensive and easily portable! Its great way to warm up before workouts or can be used as a tool for doing HIITs (High Intensity Interval Training). We skip quite a bit in my Hourglass Workout classes and I have a few jump rope workouts in my TWL online program! Skipping rope is a great and fun way to get a sweat on!
JUMP ROPE TRICKS: HOW TO CHOOSE A ROPE
The first step to jump roping is to purchase a rope that is the right size for your height. To test this, you can put the rope under your feet and hold the handles one on each side. They should reach each of your underarms. Longer than that could be too long and shorter than that could be too short.
If you’re just starting, you can grab a regular speed rope for about $10 at any martial arts store or department store. If you want to get more fancy, you can look into a more expensive specialty speed rope.

Basically you jump rope for 8 intervals 30 seconds intervals, which is segmented by 20 seconds of high intensity work and 10 seconds rest.
