I love this drink for a smooth, semi-sweet burst of color, flavor & nutrients to boot. I enjoy it most as a part of a breakfast or mid-day snack. If I have a craving for something sweet. I like to have it with a side of trail mix or toasted sourdough bread with nut butter.
Nutritionally this drink offers so much more than a typical breakfast of oatmeal or cereal, often offering an unbalanced high carb and sugar with little fat or protein.
This drink offers a great mix of fat and fibre to balance the carbs to better satiate you as well as a good punch of micronutrients. It’s rich in potassium from the bananas as well as a myriad of micronutrients from the spirulina including: magnesium, calcium, zinc and iron.
This easy to make and very tasty drink will quickly become a staple when you’re looking for a quick shot of sweet, but want it to be a healthy shot.
